To think freely

Democracy is a delusion
Our established political parties ”protect” democracy By ”democracy” they mean freedom of thought and expression and so on. Members and most of all leaders of the parties try to apply their ideas on the whole population. To be able to carry out their ideas they must first establish a political power position, rule the government. This is obtained through general elections (about every fourth year). The process leading to the election day contains among other things marketing of the ideas, presentation of facts and classical advertising in all forms.

The presentation of facts is a declaration of contents (completed with arguments) so that the receiver on the conscious plane can study the information and take a position. Advertising aims to influence the unconscious of the reciever/customer to act according to the wish of the sender, to buy the ”right” product or vote for the ”right” party. In other words, advertising aims to get around the individual´s conscious weighing for or against. Advertising influences our thinking and our actions. Businessmen use advertising to influence our actions and politicians use advertising to influence our thoughts and actions on election day.

In this way the individual loses his freedom of action and thought. If the freedom of thought ceases, the main element of democracy disappears. Through the use of advertising in politics the individual´s freedom of thought is rubbed out and the principles of democracy are destroyed. Through the politicians´use of advertising and the individual´s inability to defend himself against it, democracy ceases to exist. Only the empty shell, the name ”democracy” remains. The freedom of expression remains, but we express only what we have been programmed to, that is what our principal has wished us to say.

The freedom of expression becomes an illusion and satisfies only those who best succeed with their advertising. Democracy becomes a hollow mental construction and just a means to gain power.

So the idea of democracy is just a gigantic illusion. The leaders to be are conscious deceivers. They have indoctrinated, brainwashed their subjects, who believe that they are free and happy in the superior democratic system. Democracy is the most sofisticated fraud of all times as long as free thought and true free decisioins are prevented through said means.

Is it possible that I am wrong in my reasoning?
I start with the assumption that the democratic system rests on the condition that there are free individuals with the capacity and possibility to express themselves freely. But if a man is influenced by advertising, directly or indirectly, and by political propaganda, he loses his ability to think his own thoughts and also to act freely The terrible thing is that people walk about, work, speak and write and believe that they are free. And they are so convinced of the worth of their freedom, that they even are capable to kill other people to defend this illusionary freedom. In our time we have uncountable examples of this among individuals and nations. Most americans think that they are free and their polical leaders give themselves the right to force their opinions and beliefs on other nations and people.

If I am right, it remains to ask:
When shall we start to question the use of advertising in the election process? What can we do to reform this system of democracy in which we live or replace it with something better.

Three great shortcomings in our democratic system of today:

Methods that influence the unconscious of the individual are used frequently.
Wages and privileges to politicians as executives are not in a fixed relation to medium wages.
Penalties for wrong use of exequtive power are not fixed by law. (This page in pdf)
